Marvelous God

Reading in Colossian 1 today and in verse 14-20, Paul just starts bragging on Christ and what He has done.
14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. 19 For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross.
Christ is everything and I can never say enough about how awesome He is. He is the reason I am where I am today and for the man I have become. Here is a great quote from a book called Simply Jesus by Joseph Stowell.
“…If you and I are ever going to experience Jesus in the way we long to experience Him, we need to get beyond ourselves and our achievements…We need to cultivate a reflex response that immediately triggers gratefulness and praise to Him for enabling us to accomplish what we do…When we are blessed, we need to master the response that takes that spark of joy we feel about ourselves and lets it explode into the joy of celebrating His preeminent provision and grace in our lives. The moment you do this, you connect with Him and lose yourself in His abundant goodness.”

Psalm 37

Came across these two verses in Psalm 37. Notice the relationship. Man delighting in God and God delighting in man.
vs. 4 Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. (NASB)
vs. 23 The steps of a man are established by the Lord, and He delights in his way.
“I long for the water
That brings life to me
’cause I long for the truth, oh
That sets man free”-Shawn McDonald I Am Nothing
“I have tasted of a love so wide
That it stops all my time.
And I have tasted of a love so deep
That it blows my mind.
And He is sweet, He is sweet. What you’re looking for
Is my sweet, sweet Jesus. What you’re looking for
Is my sweet Lord.”-Shawn McDonald Have You Ever?
