I Have 30 Days Left To Live
August 20, 2007
I was reading in Psalms 39 and David declares he will stop complaining because he knows his days are short. He realizes that man’s life is but a breath compared to eternity. Verse 6 basicly says man is busy rushing around amassing his riches. But for what? So others can spend it? So he can take it with him?
What if I was given the news I had exactly 30 days to live? What if you were? How would you prioritize everything now? What’s important to you now? Now how do these things rank in your short time to live-
- relationships
- sharing Christ
- achieving goals
- material possessions
How do you decide what to do first? Would your last 30 days be consumed with regret or with contentment? Would you travel to places you’ve always wanted to visit? Would you surround yourself with the ones you love or would you go off to the mission fields serving God to your dying seconds? Would you spend every second you could telling others about Christ & how to go to Heaven and who would you start with-friends, family or complete strangers?
Yeah this is a hard topic to think about, but it really makes you think about what’s important in life and what kinds of things deserve your precious time. I would love to hear what some people would do with 30 final days. I’m still thinking about it-I suppose I would waste about 2 days on being mad at God and going thru the 6- 12 stages of grief. How about you?
It is possible to know God personally.
In fact, the very reason God created us is so that we might know Him personally. (John 17:3)
The Bible says our sins have separated us from God (Isaiah 59:2)
Jesus Christ is the only way to God (John 14:6)
Acknowledge you have sinned against God, and that you desire to turn from that sin (1 John 1:8-9)
Believe Jesus Christ died in your place and rose again to be your Savior. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
Invite Christ to direct your life.
If you truly want to have a personal relationship with God, you can express it with a simple prayer:
“Dear Lord, I want to know you personally. I am willing with Your help, to turn from my sins. Thank you for sending Jesus who died in my place and rose again to be my Savior. I here and now ask you to come into my life, to lead me and to be Lord of my life. Amen”

Hey Tanner! That was “Speak To Me Gently” by the band Future Of Forestry. I have another one of their songs up- just type in the word “Gazing” into the search engine on the right hand side of blog page and it will take you to the post titled “Who Do You Pray For”.

A very thought provoking post. Thank you. I am a believer (have been for 10 years), but looking at priorities from that perspective is really intriguing.
God Bless You, and again, thank you.
